The Proximity Which Obligates Men To Attend Congregation In The Masjid โ€ข There's no set limit in the Shariโ€™ah as Sheikh โ€™Uthaymฤซn raแธฅimahullฤh stated: ุงู„ู…ุณุงูุฉ ู„ูŠุณ ููŠู‡ุง ุชุญุฏูŠุฏ ุดุฑุนูŠ. Then when the man turned away he called him and said: โ€œCan you hear the adhฤn?โ€ He said: โ€œYes.โ€ So he (๏ทบ) said: โ€œAnswer [it]!โ€ [Sahih Muslim, 653] So, whoever is within a proximity where he is able to hear the adhฤn, this person is obligated to answer the call and attend the congregation in the masjid. Imฤm An-Nawawi raแธฅimahullฤh said: ุงู„ุงุนุชุจุงุฑ ููŠ ุณู…ุงุน ุงู„ู†ุฏุงุก ุฃู† ูŠู‚ู ุงู„ู…ุคุฐู† ููŠ ุทุฑู ุงู„ุจู„ุฏ ูˆุงู„ุฃุตูˆุงุช ู‡ุงุฏุฆุฉ ูˆุงู„ุฑูŠุญ ุณุงูƒู†ุฉ ูˆู‡ูˆ ู…ุณุชู…ุนุ› ูุฅุฐุง ุณู…ุน ู„ุฒู…ู‡ุŒ ูˆุฅู† ู„ู… ูŠุณู…ุน ู„ู… ูŠู„ุฒู…ู‡. โ€œThe determining factor in hearing the adhฤn is for the mu'adhin to stand at the edge of the Town while the voices are quiet, the wind is still, and he is listening attentively; so if he hears [the adhฤn] he is obligated to attend, and if he does not hear it then he is not obligated to do so.โ€ [Al-Majmลซโ€™ (4/353)] BENEFIT: Sheikh แธคasan Bฤ Shuโ€™ayb แธฅafidhahullฤh said: ุฐูƒุฑ ุจุนุถ ุงู„ูู‚ู‡ุงุก ุฃู† ุงู„ุฃุฐุงู† ููŠ ุงู„ุฃุญูˆุงู„ ุงู„ุนุงุฏูŠุฉ ูŠุณู…ุน ุนู„ู‰ ุจุนุฏ ูุฑุณุฎุ› ูˆุงู„ูุฑุณุฎ ุซู„ุงุซุฉ ุฃู…ูŠุงู„ุ› ูˆุงู„ู…ูŠู„ ูƒูŠู„ูˆ ูˆุณุชุฉ ุฃุนุดุงุฑ. โ€œSome of the Jurists mentioned that, in normal conditions the adhฤn can be heard from a distance of a Farsakh; one Farsakh is three miles, and each mile is 1.6 km.โ€ [t.me/Bashuaib/4909] โ€ข The adhฤn's reach is based on the human voice at an average loudness without the use of a microphone. This seems very far ูˆุงู„ู„ู‡ ุฃุนู„ู…! Sheikh Albฤni raแธฅimahullฤh said: โ€œThe distance is an estimation based on whether he is in a place where he can hear the natural adhฤn that is not accompanied by instruments which amplify the sound; so whoever is within this proximity must attend the masjid. If he does not do so, he will be sinful, and if he continues like this, he will aquire a characteristic from the characteristics of the hypocrites.
