The beard is a Sign of Manhood Shaykh Ṣāliḥ Al-Fawzān (may Allāh preserve him) said: “It is permissible to groom your beard, wash it, or apply fragrance to it. But to violate it—cutting it, trimming from here and there, or shaping it—this is not allowed. The beard is an adornment for you and a symbol of manliness; so why do you insist on tampering with it?
