BENEFIT: Giving glad tidings—especially during hardship—is from the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ

In one of our Lāmiyyah classes, Shaykh Wahb Adh-Dhayfāni (raḥimahullāh) reminded us: The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: ((ما يجد الشهيد من مس القتل إلا كما يجد أحدكم من مس القرصة)). "The martyr feels nothing at the time of being killed except what one of you would feel from the prick/pinch of an ant." [Reported by al-Tirmidhī and others from Abū Hurayrah (raḍiyallāhu ʿanhu); graded Ṣaḥīḥ by Shaykh al-Albānī] Ibn Al-Qayyim (raḥimahullāh) explained: "The martyr experiences no pain except like that of a prick or pinch. Thus, being killed as a martyr is not more severe than the normal pains faced by the children of Ādam. Whoever thinks that martyrdom is more painful than dying on one’s bed is mistaken. Rather, the martyr’s death is among the easiest, most noble, and most virtuous of deaths." [Ighāthat Al-Lahfān (2/194)] The Shaykh (raḥimahullāh) then commented: "A man once saw in a dream a brother who had been killed in battle against the Houthi rebels (may Allāh repay them as they deserve). He asked him: ‘What was death like?’ The brother replied: ‘Like the prick of an ant.’" @MasjidSahabah
