Advice to the Jinn Regarding Attending Lessons

Shaykh Muqbil Al-Wādiʿī (raḥimahullāh) said: "Let us return to advising our brothers from among the jinn. We advise them to attend the lessons of knowledge. Some people may think that the jinn do not attend such gatherings, yet this is not the case. There was a man in Ṣaʿdah who was visited by a jinn that would study the Qurʾān with him. Another man, who used to teach in Riyadh, was accompanied by a female jinn who memorised the Qurʾān with him. She would sit behind him, and he would even serve her coffee, which she would take and drink! On another occasion, a man teaching in a circle of knowledge suddenly heard a voice call out: ‘Shaykh, Shaykh!’ The attendees did not know who was speaking. The Shaykh replied: ‘Yes?’ The jinn said: ‘Some of your students throw their sticks, but they end up falling on us.’ So, there is nothing to prevent the jinn from attending lessons of knowledge. One of my brothers told me that while he was treating a possessed person, the jinn said to him: ‘You are reciting over me, but I am a student of Abū ʿAbdirraḥmān Muqbil ibn Hādī Al-Wādiʿī!’ Likewise, another individual in Afghanistan said: ‘I am one of the students of Abū ʿAbdirraḥmān Muqbil ibn Hādī Al-Wādiʿī!’ Thus, there is no doubt that among them are those who attend the gatherings of knowledge." 📔 Tuḥfah Al-Mujīb pp. 370–371 @MasjidSahabah
