→ When Al-Mufaḍal ibn Faḍālah prayed ’Asr prayer on Friday, he would retreat to a corner of the masjid alone and continue supplicating until sunset. [Akhbār Al-Quḍhāh]
→ When Ṭāwūs bin Kaysān prayed ’Asr prayer on Friday, he would face the Qiblah and remain in supplication until sunset. [Tarikh Wasit]
→ One of the righteous said: "Whenever I supplicated to Allāh between ’Asr and Maghrib on Friday, my Lord would answer me until I became hesitant [due to the frequency of answers]."
→ Ibn ’Asākir mentioned in Tarikh Dimashq that: "Aṣ-Ṣalṭ ibn Busṭām was afflicted with blindness. He sat while people supplicated for him during ’Asr on Friday, and just before sunset, he sneezed once, and his sight was restored."
→ Sa’eed ibn Jubayr reported from Ibn ‘Abbas, may Allāh be pleased with them both, that he said: “The hour that is mentioned on Friday spans from ‘Asr prayer until sunset.” For this reason, Sa’eed ibn Jubayr would not speak to anyone after performing ‘Asr prayer until the sun had set. This is also the view of the majority of the Salaf, and it is supported by most of the narrations. [Zād Al-Ma’ād]
