Don’t Let False Assumptions Destroy Relationships
Sheikh Albāni -may Allāh have mercy on him- said:
«كثيراً ما تقع المقاطعة والمصارمة مما يخطر في بال الإنسان من الظنون والأوهام تجاه أخيه المسلم»
"Often, boycotting and hostility arises as a result of [evil] thoughts and delusions that a person has towards his Muslim brother." [Silsilah Al-Hudā wan-Nūr- (23)]
A person may misunderstand his brother’s words, assume bad intentions, or believe something about him without verifying it. Over time, these thoughts can turn into resentment, avoidance, hostility, and even cutting off the relationship.
Before you change the way you treat someone, make sure you know the reality—not merely what your mind has imagined.
Give your Muslim brother the benefit of the doubt, verify what you hear, and do not allow unproven thoughts to become a reason for hatred or boycotting. A sound heart seeks clarity before passing judgment.
