Narrated Ali (may Allah be pleased with him): “There is no person who visits a sick person in the evening except that 70,000 angels accompany him, seeking forgiveness for him until morning, and he will have a garden of Paradise. And whoever visits a sick person in the morning, 70,000 angels accompany him, seeking forgiveness for him until evening, and he will have a garden of Paradise.” [Reported by Abu Dawud 3098 - graded Sahih by Sheikh Albani] 1⃣. Have a sincere intention — Visit the sick seeking the reward of Allah and to fulfil the rights of your Muslim brother or sister. 2⃣. Make duʿā’ for the sick — Say: ((لا بأس طهور إن شاء الله)) “There is no harm; it is a purification, if Allah wills.” You can also say (7x): ((أسأل الله العظيم رب العرش العظيم أن يشفيك)) “I ask Allah, the Magnificent, Lord of the Mighty Throne, to cure you.” 3⃣. Give words of comfort and hope — Speak kindly and remind them of Allah’s mercy, forgiveness and reward. 4⃣. Do not prolong the visit — Consider the condition of the sick person. They may become tired quickly, so a short and beneficial visit is often better. 5⃣. Lower your voice and behave calmly — Avoid loud conversation, joking excessively, or anything that disturbs the patient or other patients. 6⃣. Do not burden them with questions — Avoid repeatedly asking about their illness, pain or personal circumstances. 7⃣. Do not expect hospitality — The purpose of visiting is to comfort the sick, not to expect food, drink or entertainment from them or their family. 8⃣. Remind them of patience and reliance upon Allah — Encourage them to have ṣabr, hope in Allah and good thoughts of Him. 9⃣. If death appears imminent, gently remind them of the shahādah — Without pressuring or repeatedly instructing them, encourage them to say Lā ilāha illā Allah. 🔟. Respect their privacy and the hospital’s rules — Do not take photographs or recordings, and do not disturb medical staff, other patients or their families. Source: https://t.me/masjidsahabah/2396
