BENEFIT: The Proper Way to Study Inheritance and the Need for Patience in Seeking Knowledge

Presenter: A number of students are requesting that your Eminence kindly teach the text of Ar-Rahabiyyah (on the topic of inheritance). Shaykh Ṣāliḥ Al-Fawzān: This is not the way. Teaching Ar-Rahabiyyah is not done in a general, open manner like this. It needs a small, focused study circle with a limited number of students, where they are taught directly and trained. This is necessary, and they must memorise it. But you are don't memorise—you have laziness. You neither memorise nor are patient. From the first day, you don’t want to continue the lesson. We have tried this before: when they face the difficulty of studying and the difficulty of exercises and questions, they become discouraged and leave. They don’t have patience. I know students of knowledge who would sweat heavily when they attend such study circles on practice days—sweat from effort and even from fear—yet they would still be patient.
