“Tell My servants to say what is best.” Ghaylān Ath-Thaqafī (may Allah be pleased with him) embraced Islam while he had ten wives. So the Prophet ﷺ said to him: “Choose four of them.” He did not say, “Divorce six of them,” even though the result is the same.
