The Month of Eman & Ihtisab
Sheikh Uthaymin rahimahullah quotes the hadith:
"Whoever fasts during Ramadhan with Eman and Ihtisab, Allah will forgive their past sins."
Here, “Eman” means believing that Allah has made fasting in Ramadhan obligatory, and believing in the reward that comes from fasting.
“Ihtisab” means that a person fasts hoping for and expecting the reward from Allah for fasting during this month.
