Sayings of the Prophet
"Both the buyer and the seller have the option of cancelling or confirming the bargain, as long as they are still together; and unless they separate or one of them gives the other the option of keeping or returning the things and a decision is concluded then, in which case the bargain is considered final. If they separate after the bargain and none of them has rejected it, then the bargain is rendered final."

Actions of the Prophet
Jabir ibn 'Abdullah reported that he was travelling on his camel which got tired, and he decided to let it go. When Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) met him and prayed for him and struck it, so it trotted as it had never trotted before. He said:
Sell it to me for an 'uqaya. I said: No. He again said: Sell it to me. So I sold it to him for an 'uqaya, but made the stipulation that I should be allowed to ride back to my family. Then when I came to (my place) I took the camel to him and he paid me its price in ready money. I then went back and he sent: (someone) behind me (and as I came) he said: Do you see that I asked you to reduce price for buying your camel. Take your camel and your coins; these are yours.
Tacit approval of the Prophet
Narrated Urwa: That the Prophet (ﷺ) gave him one Dinar so as to buy a sheep for him. Urwa bought two sheep for him with the money. Then he sold one of the sheep for one Dinar, and brought one Dinar and a sheep to the Prophet. On that, the Prophet (ﷺ) invoked Allah to bless him in his deals. So `Urwa used to gain (from any deal) even if he bought dust.

The Muslims have unanimously agreed on the permissibility of selling in general.
BENEFIT:
in some cases
in all cases
* Permissibility is also indicated through النظر الصحيح sound reasoning:
People's needs calls for financial transactions, as a person requires what is in the hands of others, which relates to their interests. There is no legitimate way for them to obtain it except through buying and selling.

The Pillars of a sales contract
A sales transaction is built on THREE essential pillars:
I1I العاقد = The Contracting Parties
I2I المعقود = The Object of the Contract
I3I صيغة العقد = The Terms of the Contract
These conditions must be fulfilled for the sale to be valid.
