How to Ensure Students Attend the Next Class: An Unfinished Story Sheikh ’Abdurrazzaq Al-Badr ḥafidhahullāh said: Excitement is one of the techniques that attracts students to attend the next lesson or lecture. One of the esteemed teachers, who teaches at the university level, once told me: “I wanted to make my students eager for the next lecture and ensure that none of them would be absent. So, I began telling them a very engaging story. When I reached the most suspenseful part — the moment that captured everyone’s attention — I looked at the clock and realised that the class time was nearly over, and I did that intentionally. I said, ‘I’m sorry, our time is up. InshaAllah, we will continue the story in the next lecture.’ The story was indeed very intriguing. One of the students, who was strong and large in build, stood up, roled up his sleeves and walked to the door, and said, ‘You will not leave until you finish the story!’
