Allah declares that the masjids belong to Him:
﴿وَأَنَّ ٱلْمَسَـٰجِدَ للهِ فَلَا تَدْعُوا۟ مَعَ ٱللهِ أَحَدًا﴾
"And the masjids are for Allah, so do not invoke anyone along with Allah." [Surah Al-Jinn 72:18]
