Example of Our Sheikh's dutifulness to his father

Our Sheikh (i.e. Sheikh Yahya may Allāh preserve him) came forward tonight to lead the 3rd and 4th rak‘ahs of the taraaweeh prayer, and just as he stepped up, his father -fearing for his health- indicated to him that he should go back, because the Sheikh had been quite ill the previous nights. So upon his father's request, the Sheikh immediately stepped back and was replaced by Sheikh Hassan Al-Khawlani. Then, as Sheikh Hassan was straightening the rows, he went up to the Sheikh's father to intercede on the Sheikh's behalf. At this request, Sheikh Yahya's father conceded and gave permission for his son, Sheikh Yahya, to lead. This is when Sheikh Yahya stepped forward and lead the prayer. The narrator said: فوالله إن صلاة شيخنا الليلة من أمتع وألذ الصلوات التي قد صليناها في حياتنا. By Allāh!
