Where's so-and-so? We don't see them anymore?
Common response:
It's none of my business. I haven't been appointed to watch over them!
Advice of a scholar:
‎Sheikh Muḥammad ibn Ṣāliḥ Al-ʿUthaymīn raḥimahullāh said: “It is not from the brotherhood of Emān that, when you see your brother falling short in his religious duties or find him indulging in prohibited matters, you forsake him, leaving him as prey to his lusts and Shayṭān. Rather, you must advise him as much as you can and continue to follow up with him. Indeed, sincere advice has a profound effect; however, it is necessary to follow it up by checking on the one you advise. Do you not see that if you were to plant a tree and water it once, then stop watering it, the tree would not survive? Likewise, you must continue to follow up until it grows and stands strong on its own.”
