A Shi’ee claimed that Ahlus-Sunnah don’t truly love Hasan and Husayn (the grandsons of the Prophet ﷺ) because they don’t narrate any hadith from them. A student of knowledge responded: ▪️Firstly, the Prophet ﷺ passed away when both of them were only around 6–7 years old. ▪️Secondly, Ahlus-Sunnah do narrate from them. For example, Hasan ibn Ali said: “I memorised from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: ((دع ما يريبك إلى ما لا يريبك)) Leave what makes you doubt for what does not make you doubt.” [Reported by At-Tirmidhi and An-Nasa'i, who graded it authentic] ▪️Thirdly, even if their narrations are few, their virtues are widely reported. For example: The Prophet ﷺ said: ((الحَسَنُ والحُسَينُ سَيِّدا شَبابِ أهلِ الْجَنَّةِ)) رواه الترمذي وصححه “Hasan and Husayn are the leaders of the youth of Paradise.” And he ﷺ said: ((اللهُمَّ إنِّي أُحِبُّهما فأحِبَّهما)) متفق عليه “O Allah, I love them, so love them.” ▪️Finally, Abu Hurairah narrated more hadith than Abu Bakr, 'Umar, Ali and, Uthman—even though they are greater in virtue. So virtue isn’t measured by how many narrations someone has, but by the testimony of the Prophet ﷺ. At that point, the Shee'ee realised he was in the wrong .
