Women Throwing Scarves At Men During Tarawih During the Tarawih prayers on the 27th night of Ramadan in the year 1447 AH, women at the Fatih Mosque in Istanbul threw scarves toward men. This act was described as a symbolic protest expressing frustration over the silence surrounding the ongoing occupation of Muslims’ first qiblah, Al-Aqsa Mosque, and as a call for men to uphold their dignity and take a stand.
