وهذا أيضا غلط ؛ فإن هذه ليست من شريعة محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم ، بل شرعت لموسى عليه السلام كما شرع له السبت ، والمسلمون لا يسبتون، وكما حرم في شرعه أشياء لم تحرم

"There is a group who make the retreat (khalwah) forty days long, giving great importance to this forty-day period. They justify it by saying that Allah promised Musa (peace be upon him) thirty nights and completed them with ten more, and it is reported that Musa fasted during them. They also claim that Esa fasted forty days for Allah, and that afterwards they received divine communication. They argue that a similar event happens during their retreats, like the revelation that came to Muhammad ﷺ in the Cave of Hira. This, however, is incorrect. This practice is not part of the Shariah of Muhammad ﷺ. It was prescribed for Musa (Peace be upon him), just as the Sabbath was prescribed for him—Muslims do not observe the Sabbath. Similarly, certain things forbidden in the Shariah of Musa were not forbidden in the Shariah of Muhammad ﷺ. Holding onto such a practice is therefore following a Shariah that has been abrogated."
