The Fitrah is Inclined to The Sunnah Some time ago, just before Ramadhan, I noticed a young man in his mid-twenties at one of the local masjids in London. He attended Asr and stayed for Maghrib and ʿIshāʾ. He appeared to be an ordinary Muslim—dressed in simple trousers and a shirt—but what caught my attention was the way he performed his prayers. He was observing many of the sunan, and I found that very uplifting. I ended up praying beside him during ʿIshāʾ. Once the prayer concluded and the masjid had quietened, I spoke him to offer some words of encouragement, hoping it would motivate him to continue adhering to the Sunnah. I told him how much I appreciated the way he prayed and asked where he had learned to pray like that. I assumed he might mention reading Ṣifat aṣ-Ṣalāh by Al-Albānī, Ibn ʿUthaymīn, Shaykh Muqbil, or perhaps studying under a Salafi teacher. Instead, he replied: “Through trial and error.” I wasn’t expecting that. I asked, “Trial and error?” He affirmed. I then told him that everything he was doing was authentically established in the Sunnah: Standing feet to feet and shoulder to shoulder Raising his hands in the four prescribed places Pointing his finger throughout the tashahhud Sitting in the iftirāsh position during the prayer (though I can’t recall whether he performed tawarruk in the final rakʿah) And other similar practices Noticing my surprise, he said something profound. He said, “The fitrah is naturally inclined toward the truth and the Sunnah.” I don't encourage anyone to study matters of the deen though "trial and error", but the point here is, this brought flashbacks to what Sheikh Rashad Adh-Dhali'ee mentioned in his advise to those who go out da'wah...People are naturally inclined towards the Sunnah, they just need someone to explain in to them nicely. https://t.me/madrasatuna/5907 Source: https://t.me/khawaaaaatir/40
