Reflect upon this Āyah:

Allāh Almighty says: “Close friends, on that Day, will be enemies to one another, except for the righteous.” [Sūrah Az-Zukhruf, 43:67] Ibn Kathīr commented: “Every friendship that is not based on Allāh will turn into enmity on the Day of Resurrection. Therefore, keep company only with a believer and avoid the companionship of the corrupt.”
