If You Would Reject Being Abandoned in Old Age, Why Do You Abandon Your Parents? Sheikh Fawzฤn แธฅafidhahullฤh states: "What can be said about what has unfortunately appeared today in some Muslim societies: when a parent grows old, he is cast into so-called charitable homes or homes for the care of the elderly. The child frees himself of his parents and places one or both of them into elderly care, as though they were not his own parents at allโ€”rather, as if they were the parents of those in the care homes. Glory be to Allฤh! Is this a human being or an animal? There is no power nor might except with Allฤh. This is the gravest form of disobedience to parents, and it is not done by one whose heart contains fear of Allฤh, the Most Exalted. How would you feel if your own child were to do this to you when you grow old and fall illโ€”if he were to take you and place you in a care home for the elderly? What would your feelings be, and how great would your anger be toward him? And what burden of sin would he bear? Why do you demand your own rights when you have not fulfilled the rights that are due from you? So let every Muslim fear Allฤh. Source: https://t.me/madrasatuna/5696
