Reflection:

Allāh has honoured the Somali people, much to the displeasure of Donald Trump, because of their deep love for the Qur’an and their strong commitment to the Deen. May Allāh continue to raise their status. Another reason Somalis performed well in this humble poll is that their large-scale migration occurred later than that of many other communities. It was mainly in the early 1990s, following the outbreak of civil war, that many Somalis began moving abroad. This timing matters because religious commitment often weakens across generations. First-generation migrants are generally more practicing than those of later generations, which is a painful reality to swallow. I am highlighting this point as a reminder not to become complacent while living in non-Muslim lands. We should be careful not to risk the decline of our children and grandchildren by settling permanently in such lands.
