A Surprise Reunion in Antwerp

One of the side benefits related to the story of Yusuf that I didn’t get a chance to mention:
The facial features of a young person change more significantly over time than those of an older person. This explains why Yusuf was able to recognise his older brothers, while they were unable to recognise him.
﴿قَالُوۤا۟ أَءِنَّكَ لَأَنتَ یُوسُفُۖ قَالَ أَنَا۠ یُوسُفُ﴾
"They said: Are you indeed Yūsuf? He said: I am Yūsuf." [Sūrah Yūsuf: 90]
During the Dawrah, I saw a brother from our time in Dammaj and recognised him immediately. I greeted and hugged him, but he didn’t recognise me at first.
It took me a little while to jog his memory—I was known by my grandfather’s name, Abraar(1), among some of the ikhwa back then. So when I said 'Muhammad' or 'Abu Ishaq,' he was clueless.
In the end, he remembered.

(1) I had to move away from 'Abraar' after discovering this ⤵️
