Is Feeling Sleepy Good or Bad? Ibn Al-Qayyim rahimahullah said: والنعاس في الحرب وعند الخوف دليل على الأمن وهو من الله، وفي الصلاة ومجالس الذكر والعلم من الشيطان. “Sleepiness during war and at times of fear is an indication of security and is from Allāh, and [sleepiness] during prayer and sittings of remembrance and knowledge is from Shaytan.” [Zād Al-Ma’ād (3/158)]
