If a mistake provokes a harsher retaliation, exercise good manners

Sheikh โAbdurrazzaq Al-Badr แธฅafidhahullฤh said:
Among the interesting stories in this regard, one that is particularly beneficial involves a righteous manโmay Allฤh have mercy on himโwho has also passed away. He was performing Hajj, walking on foot despite his advanced age, accompanied by an aide.
The aide narrated the incident: a strong woman was in front of him, pushing another person in a cart. He did not notice her and accidentally collided with her. He was elderly and had weak eyesight, probably around eighty years old at the time.
The woman turned to him, cursed him, and struck him with the full force of her hand, causing him to fall on his back. His aide recounts that he rose with a smile, turned to him (not to the woman), and said,

โPraise be to Allฤh, she has taken her right in this world.โ
He acknowledged that she had obtained her due, even though he had made no mistake.
In contrast, many people, when faced with difficult situations, lack patience or good character and cannot endure such incidents. In such cases, a seemingly minor accident can escalate into a severe conflict, argument, or even physical confrontation.
