Drawing lines is not something that has been revealed to us, nor is it something that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ brought to us. Allah the Most High says: "Whoever obeys the Messenger has indeed obeyed Allah. And whoever turns away, then We have not sent you over them as a guardian." [Surah An-Nisā’: 80] And the Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever obeys me has indeed obeyed Allah.” Obeying the Messenger ﷺ, just as it can be through doing something, can also be through leaving something, according to the previously mentioned principles. There is the practical Sunnah (things the Prophet ﷺ did), and there is the Sunnah of leaving something (things the Prophet ﷺ did not do), as the scholars of knowledge have explained. Both types are included in the statement of the Prophet ﷺ: “Upon you is my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the rightly guided, guided caliphs. Hold firmly onto it and bite onto it with your molar teeth.” So when you understand this properly, the doubts and difficulties will disappear from you, and you will leave behind matters based merely on personal preference. Although we respect the people of knowledge and virtue, and the scholars of the Sunnah from both sides, this does not allow us to oppose what is correct and what is strongest. They are all our scholars, our imams, and our respected leaders. However, the truth is more beloved to us than anything else, and the guidance of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ takes precedence for us over every other guidance, regardless of who the person following that other view may be. ✅ For: May Allah reward you with goodness. You have clarified and made the matter clear, and you have removed every confusion from me. ❌ Against: That is by the success and guidance granted by Allah. There is nothing from me, and there is no ability in me. All praise belongs to Allah, in the beginning and in the end, outwardly and inwardly. May Allah reward you with goodness for accepting the truth and what is correct. This is what we expect from everyone who honours the Qur’an and the Sunnah and gives precedence to evidence over personal preference that has no proof from the Qur’an or the Sunnah. May Allah send abundant peace and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and companions. Source: https://t.me/madrasatunaa/499
