๐ŸŒ• Ramaแธhฤn Benefits (11)
It was narrated by โ€™Abdullฤh ibn โ€™Amr (may Allฤh be pleased with him) that the Prophet ๏ทบ said: ((ู„ููƒูู„ู‘ู ุนู… ูŽู† ูƒุงู†ุช ุฅู„ู‰ ุบูŠุฑู ุฐู„ููƒูŽ ูู‚ุฏ ู‡ู„ูŽูƒูŽ)) "Every deed has a period of enthusiasm, and every period of enthusiasm is followed by a phase of weariness. Whoever's phase of weariness remains in accordance with my Sunnah has succeeded, but whoever's phase of weariness deviates from that is ruined." [Reported by Ahmad and authenticated by Sheikh Al-Albani] As we enter the middle ten days of Ramaแธhฤn, a period when enthusiasm tends to wane compared to the first and last ten days, it is essential to remind ourselves of the immense virtue of worship during times of heedlessness. The Prophet ๏ทบ said: ((ุงู„ุนุจุงุฏุฉ ููŠ ุงู„ู‡ุฑู’ุฌ ูƒู‡ุฌุฑุฉ ุฅู„ูŠ)) "Worship during Harj is like migration to me." [Reported by Muslim] Imam An-Nawawi (may Allฤh have mercy on him) commented in his explanation of the hadith: "What is meant by 'Harj' here is turmoil and the disorder of people's affairs. The reason worship is greatly rewarded during such times is that people become heedless of it, preoccupied with worldly concerns, and only a few dedicate themselves to it." The Prophet ๏ทบ likened the one who worships during times of heedlessness to the one who migrates to him; i.e. Just like the Muhฤjirลซn left behind their family, homeland, and wealth to join the Prophet ๏ทบ in Madinah, prioritising what is with Allฤh, so too does the devoted worshipper in times of fitnah and heedlessness. He distances himself from the distractions, turning instead to the worship of his Lord and seeking His immense grace. Similarly, Ibn Rajab, in his commentary on the Prophetโ€™s ๏ทบ statement, โ€œThat (i.e. Shaโ€™bฤn) is a month in which people are heedless,โ€ derived several benefits, including the recommendation of engaging in acts of worship during times of general heedlessness. This is something beloved to Allฤh, the Almighty. No matter how much our motivation declines, we must ensure that we do not neglect the regular good deeds we have established, and most importantly, never fall short in fulfilling our obligations.
