AD-DĪN AN-NAṢĪḤAH (4) (https://t.me/madrasatuna) ------------------------------------------------ ▪️Don't wait to fall into sin before repenting and seeking forgiveness from Allāh▪️ Repenting and seeking forgiveness from Allāh is an act of worship which draws a person closer to Allāh and one which is highly beloved to Allāh at all times. Allāh ﷻ said: {إِنَّ اللهَ یُحِبُّ ٱلتَّوَّ ٰبِینَ} “Surely Allāh loves those who always turn to Him in repentance.” [Sūrah Al-Baqarah 222] Similarly, Anas ibn Mālik Al-Anṣāri -raḍhiyallāhu ‘anhu- narrated: The Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) said, "Verily, Allāh is more delighted with the repentance of His slave than a person who lost his camel in a desert land and then finds it (unexpectedly)". [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]. In another version of Muslim, he said: "Verily, Allāh is more pleased with the repentance of His slave than a person who has his camel in a waterless desert carrying his provision of food and drink and it is lost. He, having lost all hopes (to get that back), lies down in the shade and is disappointed about his camel; when all of a sudden he finds that camel standing before him. He takes hold of its reins and then out of boundless joy blurts out: 'O Allāh, You are my slave and I am Your Rabb'. He commits this mistake out of extreme joy". Subḥānallāh!!! No wonder why this was a regular practice of our Prophet ﷺ. Abū Hurairah -raḍhiyallāhu ‘anhu- reported: I heard the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) saying: ((والله إني لأستغفر الله وأتوب إليه في اليوم أكثر من سبعين مرة)) "By Allāh, I seek Allāh's forgiveness and repent to Him more than seventy times a day." [Al-Bukhari]. If that's the Messenger of Allāh, the most sinless of us all, then what about me and you? Moreover, there are several ways a person may seek forgiveness, the simplest of which is to say: أَستغفر اللهَ Astaghfirullāh 'I seek Allāh's forgiveness' How easy is that? You could easily say that a hundred times in less than 3 minutes. Try it! There's not much effort involved. We could say it while walking to and from the mall/supermarket, while cooking, driving, sitting, standing, lying down, etc. Let's make the most of our tongue. And you know what? ‘Abdullāh bin Busr -raḍhiyallāhu ‘anhu- said: The Prophet ﷺ said: "Glad tidings to those who find a lot of seeking forgiveness (istighfār) in their record of deeds." [Ibn Mājah, graded 'Ṣaḥīḥ' by Sheikh Albāni in Ṣaḥiḥ ibn Mājah (3093)] Nonetheless, Shaddād ibn Aws -raḍhiyallāhu ‘anhu- narrated that the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) said: “The best manner of asking for forgiveness is to say: اَللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ رَبِّي، لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ، خَلَقْتَنِي وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ، وَأَنَا عَلَى عَهْدِكَ وَوَعْدِكَ مَا اِسْتَطَعْتُ، أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا صَنَعْتُ، أَبُوءُ لَكَ بِنِعْمَتِكَ عَلَيَّ، وَأَبُوءُ لَكَ بِذَنْبِي، فَاغْفِرْ لِي؛ فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَغْفِرُ اَلذُّنُوبَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ. “O Allāh! You are my Lord. None has the right to be worshipped except You. You created me and I am your servant and I abide by your covenant and promise as best I can. I seek refuge in you from the evil which I have committed. I acknowledge your favour upon me and I acknowledge my sins, so forgive me, for verily none can forgive sin except you.” [Al-Bukhari] So, I advice myself and you all to be continuous in seeking forgiveness and turning to Allāh in repentance. ___________________ Related topic 👇🏽 Conditions for sincere repentance: https://t.me/madrasatuna/288
