Al-Jawhari is known for his famous dictionary (الصحاح), and he is considered an early linguist from the classical period. It is said that when he compiled the book الصحاح and it was highly acclaimed by the public, he remarked, "I have written a book like no one has written before, and I will do something that no one has done before." He then attempted to fly, constructing wings for himself, and initially, it seems he succeeded.
