BENEFIT: The Two Categories of Islamic Sciences

1⃣. Instrumental Sciences (علوم الآلة) & 2⃣. Objective Sciences (علوم الغاية) The extent of one's mastery of instrumental sciences determines their comprehension of objective sciences. Likewise, the proper acquisition and application of objective sciences uphold the Shari'ah and lead to the salvation of humankind. The most prominent instrumental sciences are three: 1. Principles of Jurisprudence (أصول الففه) 2. Arabic Language (اللغة) 3. Hadith Terminology (مصطلح الحديث). The objective sciences are four: 1. Islamic Creed (العقيدة) 2. Quranic Exegesis (التفسير) 3. Hadith (الحديث) 4. Jurisprudence (الفقه) A methodological flaw arises when one spends an entire lifetime engrossed in instrumental sciences while neglecting the intended ultimate sciences.
