Three Essential Traits for a Successful Student of Knowledge

Sheikh Yahya hafidahullah: I recall two important principles in the pursuit of knowledge: humility and contentment, along with a third, sincerity, which is the foundation. If a person seeks knowledge or invites to Allāh sincerely, do you think Allāh will abandon them? By Allāh, their Lord is far too protective to leave them, especially when He knows their sincerity. As for the one who humbles themselves in their pursuit of knowledge, do you think Allāh will degrade them? By Allāh, their Lord is far too protective to demean them, particularly when He is aware of their humility and their adherence to religion. And for the one who remains content, do you think they will be neglected, left impoverished, without food, sustenance, honour, or dignity? By Allāh, their Lord is far too protective to allow them to fall into such a state, as the devil might falsely portray to them. Thus, three qualities, if present in the student of knowledge, are glad tidings of goodness: 1⃣. sincerity (which includes adherence to the Prophet's guidance), 2⃣. humility, and 3⃣. contentment. ➡️@madrasatuna
