Excerpt from Sheikh Yahya's Advice to the People of Syria

"You should have your own masjids—one, two, or three. By Allāh, even if the masjid is made of straw or mud, it would suffice. There is no need for large, massive, or luxurious buildings; rather, the masjid should be proportional [to the community's capability]. In Indonesia, as we have been informed, some masjids are made of straw, yet they serve as centres for Salafi Da'wah. Similarly, some are built from mud and still fulfill their purpose. In fact, in Dammaj, the first masjid where the Sheikh (i.e. Sheikh Muqbil) began his Da'wah was made of mud, as we were told. I did not witness it myself, but this is what has been narrated. Later, by Allāh’s grace, a proper masjid was constructed, and the Da'wah to Islam and its blessings flourished." ➡️@masjidsahabah
