The Poison of Namimah Sheikh Daghash Al-'Ajmi hafidhahullah: The thing that ruins people's relationships more than anything else; corrupting relationship between brothers, between a person and his siblings, between a teacher and his students, between students and their teacher, between neighbours, and between husbands and wives...Do you know what that is? Backbiting and tale-bearing (namīmah). Yahya ibn Aktham said: "A tale-bearer can accomplish in one hour what a magician cannot accomplish in a whole year." A person recites the morning and evening remembrances every day and never forgets to recite Ayat al-Kursi. Can anyone afflict him with magic or cause a devil to harm him? They are unable. One may constantly try to afflict him with magic for a whole year but they are unable. Yet that same righteous person may hear someone say, "Do you know? Yesterday, so-and-so was speaking badly about you. So-and-so (may Allah forgive them) said such-and-such about you." He replies, "He said that about me after everything I've done for him?" From that moment, the relationship is damaged. The next day he meets him with a frown instead of a smile. Then he starts treating him badly. The same happens with a wife. Someone tells her, "Your husband is planning to do this," or, "He's been talking about you," or, "He's betrayed you with another woman," or, "He's messaging other women."... Likewise, a husband is told, "Your wife did this," or, "We saw her at such-and-such place," or, "She dresses immodestly," or similar claims. Suspicion takes root, and family and marriage begin to fall apart. Or someone tells a father, "Your son did such-and-such." This is why you should never be quick to listen to tale-bearing. Don't listen to it. It destroys relationships, tears families apart, and harms entire communities. Source: https://t.me/madrasatunaa/433
