In today’s Kitab ar-Riqaq lesson from Sahih al-Bukhari we will go through this hadith in sha’Allah.
Al-Bukhari collected from Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said, “The Prophet ﷺ drew a square, and in the middle, he drew a line that extended beyond it, and he drew several small lines to the side of the middle line. Then, he said, ‘This is the human being, and this square is his appointed time that has encompassed him or is surrounding him. The line extending beyond is his amal (hoping to live long), and these small lines are the adversities. If he escapes this one, the other one strikes him, and if he escapes that one, another one strikes him.‘“
