A FORGOTTEN SUNNAH❗️

29 May 2020 • 3.7K views
Abū Hurairah -raḍhiyallāhu ‘anhu- narrated: “Allāh's Messenger ﷺ used to recite during the Fajr prayer on Fridays 'Alif Lām Mīm tanzīl...' [Sūrah As-Sajdah (32)] (in the first rak‘ah) and 'Hal atā ‘alal insāni...' [Sūrah Al-Insān (76)] (in the second rak‘ah). [Reported by Bukhāri (891) and Muslim (880)] ____ 1st SIDE NOTE: If you want to implement this, then the Sunnah is to recite one Sūrah in each rak‘ah, as Sheikh ibn Bāz -raḥimahullāh- clarifies here: ⤵️ https://binbaz.org.sa/fatwas/5146/%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B3%D9%86%D8%A9-%D9%81%D9%8A-%D9%82%D8%B1%D8%A7%D8%A1%D8%A9-%D9%81%D8%AC%D8%B1-%D9%8A%D9%88%D9%85-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%AC%D9%85%D8%B9%D8%A9 2nd SIDE NOTE: Nowadays some imāms recite Sūrah Al-Jumu‘ah every Friday during the Fajr prayer, whereas others recite it every Thursday during the Maghrib or ‘Ishā prayer. However, this practice is not established from the Prophet ﷺ. 3rd SIDE NOTE: There's a prostration of recitation (Sajdah At-Tilāwah) midway through Sūrah As-Sajdah, but despite this, it is not proven that the Prophet ﷺ ever prostrated during the Fajr prayer on Friday!
