Barakah lies with the Akaabir

The Prophet ﷺ said:
((البركة مع أكابركم))
"Barakah (blessing) lies with your Akaabir (elders)."
[Reported by Ibn Ḥibbān in his Ṣaḥīḥ (559), graded 'Ṣaḥīḥ' by Sheikh Albāni raḥimahullāh Saheeh Al-Jāmi' (2884)]
Al-Munāwi rahimahullah commented:
"Those experienced in matters and dedicated to increasing their good deeds should be sought out for counsel, so one may benefit from their wisdom and follow their guidance. This also applies to those who hold positions of knowledge, EVEN IF THEY ARE YOUNG IN AGE; they deserve respect, in recognition of the honour that Allāh, the Exalted, has bestowed upon them.
The commentator on 'Ash-Shihāb' noted:
هذا حث على طلب البركة في الأمور والتبحبح في الحاجات بمراجعة الأكابر لما خصوا به من سبق الوجود وتجربة الأمور وسالف عبادة المعبود قال تعالى {قال كبيرهم} وكان في يد المصطفى ﷺ سواك فأراد أن يعطيه بعض من حضر فقال جبريل عليه السلام: كبر كبر! فأعطاه الأكبر، وقد يكون الكبير في العلم أو الدين فيقدم على من هو أسن.
"This is an encouragement to seek blessings in matters and to find ease in fulfilling needs by consulting the elders, due to their precedence in existence, experience in matters, and longstanding devotion to worship. Allāh, the Almighty, said, 'The eldest among them spoke.' The Prophet ﷺ once held a miswāk and intended to give it to someone present, but Jibreel (peace be upon him) advised, 'Give it to the elder first.' THE ELDER (KABEER) MAY ALSO BE SOMEONE DISTINGUISHED IN KNOWLEDGE OR PIETY, WHO SHOULD BE GIVEN PRECEDENCE OVER THOSE WHO ARE OLDER IN AGE."
