BENEFIT 199: Rejoice O Stranger!

Ibnul Qayyim rahimahullah said: "Muslims are strangers among humanity, the believers are strangers among Muslims, the scholars are strangers among the believers, and the followers of the Sunnah who distinguish it from whims and innovations are strangers (among them). Those who call to it (i.e. the Sunnah) and patiently endure the harm of the dissenters are the most estranged of them. However, these are truly the people of Allah. Thus, they are not estranged, but their estrangement is merely among the majority (of people), about whom Allah Almighty has said: ﴿وَإِن تُطِعۡ أَكۡثَرَ مَن فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ یُضِلُّوكَ عَن سَبِیلِ ٱللهِ﴾ 'And if you obey most of those upon the earth, they will mislead you from the way of Allah.'
