"There is no harm for a woman [in a marriage meeting] to display from her (natural) beauty what would attract a man to propose to her, so she may show her hair, face, hands, and feet. However, she should not adorn herself specifically for this suitor because she is not yet his wife, and if she adorns herself or beautifies her face with any adornment, then marriage takes place, and the man sees her differently from what she appeared like during the meeting, his desire for her may diminish to a level that could lead to separation, especially since the suitor's gaze is different from the gaze of the husband who has already possessed and taken hold of her. Therefore, I say: It is permissible for a man when proposing to a woman to look at what attracts him to marrying her from her face, hands, head, hair, and feet, but under the condition that it is not done in seclusion between him and her. A mahram from her side must be present, because being alone with a non-mahram woman is prohibited, as stated by the Prophet ﷺ: "A man must not be alone with a woman except with a mahram present."
