Why are you guys offering 'Eid Salah in the masjid this year, isn't the Sunnah to pray outside?

Response: Yes, the Sunnah is to perform 'Eid Salah in an outdoor musallaa, as we have consistently done in previous years. However, this year marks a difference due to the expanded outreach of the da'wah, which now reaches a broader audience through Masjid Umm Al-Qura (the new headquarters for MarkazUthman). Instead of isolating ourselves from the community by hosting an outdoor prayer of our own, we see this as an opportunity to introduce more people to the Salafi da'wah by conducting the Eid Salah in the masjid, while also reminding them of the Sunnah of praying outdoors in preparation for next Eid inshaAllah. Additionally, when catering for larger numbers, there is a greater demand for time, effort, and preparation, which we had not foreseen given the limited timeframe. However, as already stated, by next Eid, inshaAllah, we aim to have the necessary logistics in place to host an outdoor event. We hope that these two factors: 1. Facilitating the propagation of the da'wah, and 2. Insufficient logistics, serve as an adequate excuse justifying our decision not to implement the Sunnah on this occasion. "There is no issue in performing [Eid] prayers in the masjid. However, if it is feasible to pray in an open area, especially outdoors, it is better. The Sunnah is to offer prayers outdoors if there is no prevention such as rain. The Sunnah is to pray outdoors, especially Eid prayer and the rains prayer. If rain or any other hindrance prevents praying in the open, then pray in the masjid, and there is no issue in doing so. Even if there is no hindrance, it is okay to pray in the masjid, but it is better to perform the 'Eid and rain prayers outdoors."
