𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻'𝘀 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀 (151)

Cooking is an act of worship if the intention is right Question: May Allāh reward you with goodness and treat you kindly. Our sister says that she enters the kitchen from after 'Aṣr prayer to prepare the ifṭār meal and does not leave until Maghrib adhān. What is the ruling on that? [She says] It is worth noting that I do not prepare a lot of food and dishes, and I listen to some religious tapes while I am in the kitchen. Sheikh Fawzān ḥafidhahullāh answered: ‟There is no harm in that, and you are engaged in a rewardable act inshaAllāh; If you enter after 'Aṣr to prepare ifṭār, tending to the need of the fasting persons, and continue working until sunset, there is reward for you in this from Allāh - if your intention is sincere. And if you listen to beneficial tapes or the Qur'ān radio or beneficial programs, this is added goodness and additional benefit. Yes. Praise be to Allāh.”
