𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻'𝘀 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀 (20)

Extreme jealousy is not a praiseworthy trait Anas raḍhiyallāhu ‘anhu said: it was said: "O Messenger of Allāh, why don't you marry a woman from the Anṣār?" He ﷺ said: ((إِنَّ فِيهِمْ لَغَيْرَةً شَدِيدَةً)) “They are very jealous.” [Sunan An-Nasā'ē (3233), graded Ṣaḥīḥ by Sheikh Albānī] Points of benefit: 1. Excessive jealousy is not a praiseworthy characteristic. 2. Marriage is a lifetime commitment, so it's important to look for qualities that will allow you to fulfill this commitment 3. Someone might say, why did the Prophet ﷺ marry Umm Salamah even though she described herself as being a jealous woman? Response: the Prophet ﷺ did not endorse this, instead he ﷺ said: “I will pray to Allāh for you to take away your jealousy.” - see full ḥadīth: https://sunnah.com/nasai:3254
