So a person ponders on the meanings and effects of the Names and Attributes of Allah and not the Howness of Allah's Attributes.

How does one do that? Shaikh Ibn 'Uthaymeen (may Allah have mercy upon him) mentions some beautiful speech in his Tafseer of Surah as-Shura-Tape 4-Side A. on how to understand Allah's Names/Attributes without imagining the Howness. He says: فالكيفية لا يجوز للإنسان أن يتخيلها، ولا يجوز أن ينطق بها، لأن الله أعظم من كل تخيل تتخيله، ولأنك لو تخيلت فإنك سوف تعبد صنما، لأن هذا المتخيل لابد أن يكون عندك تصور أنك تعبد هذا الذي تتخيله، فتكون من جنس الممثلين، وفي مقدمة النونية لابن القيم قال : " المعطل يعبد عدما والممثل يعبد صنما " إذا لا تتخيل الكيفية، ولهذا جاء في الأثر: "تفكروا في آيات الله ولا تفكروا في ذات الله" الآيات تفكر فيها Then the Shaikh says: فإن قال قائل : كيف أتصور المعنى ولا أتصور الكيفية ؟ قلنا : هذا سهل، الآن لو أقول لك : فلان صعد على السطح، تعرف معنى صعد ؟ نعم، لكن هل تعرف كيف صعد مع أنه مثلك ؟ لا تعرف كيف صعد، يمكن صعد على يديه ورجليه، يمكن صعد بعربية، يمكن صعد محمولا، يمكن صعد يمشي على يديه، ما فيه ناس يمشون على أيديهم الآن ؟ شاهدنا من يمشي على يديه يا جماعة، من هذا الطرف إلى الطرف الآخر، ويمكن يمشي على رأسه ؟ هذه ما أظنه لأنه لا يمكن أن ينقز على الرأس، لكن على كل حال نحن الآن إذا قيل فلان : صعد على السطح، أنا أعرف معنى الصعود، لكن كيف صعد ؟ ما تدري، فإذا عقل المعنى دون الكيفية أمر واقع، فنحن نؤمن بأن الله عز وجل استوى على العرش لكن لا نكيف ذلك ولا ندري كيفيته، 3⃣. The solution for the questioner's issue can be summarized in the following points: Make dua to Allah and seek refuge in Him from these doubts. These doubts are from Shaytaan. Use the following dua reported in the Hadith which is Agreed upon ((آمَنت بِاللهِ وَرُسُله)) [I believe in Allāh and His Messenger]. Fight against these imaginations, detest them, and do not accept them. If you do this then this is a sign of clarity of your Imaan as it comes in the Hadith in Muslim on the authority of Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) ((ذَاكَ صَرِيحُ الإِيمَانِ)) Learn your Aqeedah. Study the Aqeedah of Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jamaa'ah to learn the meaning of Allah's Names, His Attributes and their effects, the difference between the meaning and the howness etc. This is the ultimate cure for this problem and the source of your heart's tranquility.
