Sheikh Jameel's research concerning the virtue of reciting Sūrah Al-Kahf on Jumu’ah

CONCLUSION: What's correct is that the transmissions of Hushaym, Shu’bah, and Ath-Thawri are all Mawqūf (to Abū Sa’eed Al-Khudri), as the imāms of ḥadīth have established. Likewise, restricting the virtue of reciting Sūrah Al-Kahf to Friday was only mentioned in the narration of Hushaym, which has a disconnection, as indicated by the words of imām Aḥmad. Thus, the preserved wording of the ḥadīth is general, without confining the virtue of reciting this Sūrah to a particular day. And though the ḥadīth is Mawqūf, it carries the same ruling as a Marfū’ ḥadīth, as this is not something that could be said based on Ijtihād. And the same applies with the Dhikr said after ablution¹, as mentioned in the same ḥadīth. In short, the virtue of reciting Sūrah Al-Kahf is not confined to Fridays.
