Comparison is the thief of joy Meaning: measuring your life, accomplishments, or possessions against others diminishes happiness and creates inadequacy. This mindset fosters envy, anxiety, and discontent, stealing satisfaction from personal progress. This is generally true, however, comparison is praiseworthy in two situations: 1⃣. When you look at people who have less in worldly matters, it helps you feel more thankful for what Allah has given you. This why the Prophet ﷺ said: ((انظروا إلى من هو أسفل منكم؛ ولا تنظروا إلى من فوقكم؛ فهو أجدر ألا تزدروا نعمة الله)) “Look at those who are below you and do not look at those above you, so that you do not underestimate Allah’s blessings.” [Agreed upon] 2⃣.
