𝗔𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗰 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗯𝘀 & 𝗜𝗱𝗶𝗼𝗺𝘀 (28):

سألته "من أبوك؟" فقال: "خالي شعيب" I asked him, 'who is your father?' and he relied: 'My uncle is Shu'ayb.' This proverb describes someone who evades questions rather than giving direct responses. Example: when the Jewish spokespeople are questioned as to why they are committing war crimes in Gaza; collective punishment of Palestinians, massacre of innocent lives, etc. Their response: “Israel has a right to defend itself.”
