PART 4: The most prominent Jam'iyyaat ascribed to Salafiyyah which the scholars have warned against: 1. Jam'iyyah Ihyaa At-Turaath Brief History: Jam'iyyah Ihyaa At-Turaath Al-Islami (Revival of Islamic heritage society) is a charitable organisation first established in Kuwait in the year 1982. This Jam'iyyah is one of the most infamous charitable organisations ascribed to Salafiyyah. It has various committees inside and outside Kuwait responsible for achieving charitable missionary and relief goals with the support of benefactors and donors. [https://alturath.net/corporate/privacy] Some of the figureheads of this Jam'iyyah include: 'Abdurrahmaan 'AbdulKhaliq (founder former president - https://torontodawah.com/abdurahman-abdul-khaliq-b-1939/) Abdullah As-Sabt (one of the founders) Tariq Al-'Esa (current president) Sulayman Al-Bariyyah (vice president) Waleed Al-Mansoor (Board secretary) Hussein Ar-Roomi (Treasurer) Hamd Al-Ameer Nadhim Al-Misbaah Uthman Al-Hajji Anwar Salamah Farhan Ash-Shimmari Khaalid Sultaan al-'Esa Aadil as-Sar'aawee Saalim an-Naashee [https://www.aljarida.com/articles/1635700023820764900] What do the scholars say about this Jam'iyyah? Sheikh Hasan Ba-Shu'aib hafidhahullah said: It [Ihyaa At-Turaath] is a Hizbi Jam'iyyah which operates under the guise of charitable projects. Its headquarters are in Kuwait. It is the mother of other Hizbi Jam'iyyaat all across the world. It adheres to the Qutbi methodology. Among its most prominent founders are 'Abdullah As-Sabt and 'Abdurahman 'AbdulKhaliq. [https://t.me/Bashuaib/4887] Sheikh Muqbil rahimahullah said: “[It should be called] Jam'iyyah Ihyaa Al-Bid'ah (Revival of Bid'ah), otherwise let them tell us what Islamic heritage (Turath) they have revived?” [Tape 'Ar-Radd Al-Wajeez 'ala As'ilat Baytil Faqeeh] Sheikh Yahya Al-Hajoori hafidhahullah said: “It is a mischievous Jam'iyyah. If one nicknamed it 'the cancer of the [Salafi] Da'wah' they would not be far off. Jam'iyyah Ihyaa At-Turaath, its branches and those affiliated to it [from the other Jam'iyyaat] are the cancer of the [Salafi] Da'wah and the [Salafi] Du'aat. Whoever enters it becomes ruined; he dissipates and enters into a state of regression. Yes, he may still give lectures, but it is deprived of any Salafi benefit - not like how he was before. It stupefies people and ruins men by means of wealth.” [https://t.me/madrasatuna/2761] Here is a practical example of how they use wealth donated to push their agendas: [https://t.me/madrasatuna/2763] Sheikh Muqbil rahimahullah said: “This is a group that causes disunity. Some of them visited us in Yemen and they said to us: 'we cannot help you unless you have an official/registered centre, meaning you have to be recognised by the Government.' so we said to them: 'we don't want any help from you, unless you want to help us without placing any conditions or restrictions.' After that they turned to the weak-hearted and enticed them with the strong [Kuwaiti] currency, up until they became disinterested in the people of knowledge...After that, it became clear that the call of Jam'iyyah Ihyaa At-Turaath was a materialistic call.” [Questions from Britain concerning Ihyaa At-Turaath] Sheikh Muqbil rahimahullah stated: “We believe that the Ikhwaan Al-Muslimoon, the Tablighi Jamaa'at, and those who claim Salafiyyah from the Companions of 'Abdurahman 'AbdulKhaliq (i.e. Ihyaa At-Turaath) are all innovators, and any Da'wah that seeks to assemble together a group of people and leave out the rest, or bring together those who join it, then such a group is considered to be upon innovation.” [Ijaabat As-Saa'il 408] Sheikh Muqbil rahimahullah was asked: what is the stance of Sheikh ibn Baz and Sheikh Albani (may Allah have mercy on them both) towards Jam'iyyah Ihyaa At-Turaath? He answered: As for Sheikh Albani then he had freed himself from them a long time ago, and as for Sheikh ibn Baz then he criticised them for some matters (*see note), but the Hizbees are
