He was invited to Kuwait by Ihyaa At-Turaath, him and Sheikh Noorustani, and upon arrival they remained with us and didn't go to them immediately. At this time we had separated from Ihyaa At-Turaath. After that, they attended the meeting with Ihyaa At-Turaath accompanied by some of the brothers. In the meeting Sheikh Shamsuddeen was told that he had to hand over control of these institutes to Ihyaa At-Turaath, otherwise they will cut all funding. When the Sheikh returned from the meeting he looked very distressed. He couldn't even eat. Ihyaa At-Turaath had volunteered to help the Sheikh by funding 1500 (male students), 900 or so (female students), a number of teachers, etc., but now they wanted the Sheikh to compromise and hand over responsibility to them. They demanded that if did not do as they said, they would cut all funding. The Sheikh's main concern was the poor students enrolled in those institutes. He was left with almost no choice.
