The Prophet ﷺ said:

((أسرعوا بالجنازة)) “Hasten the funeral.” [Transmitted by Bukhari (1315) & Muslim (944) on the authority of Abu Hurairah radhiyallahu 'anhu] Ibn Hajar rahimahullah explained: 'فيه استحباب المبادرة إلى دفن الميت، لكن بعد أن يتحقق أنه مات'. “In this (the above hadeeth) is the recommendation to hasten the burial of the dead, but this is only after establishing that the person has actually passed away.” [Relayed by Al-'Ayni in 'Umdat Al-Qaari]
