BENEFIT 63: Example of Heedlessness in Da'wah A daa'ee who ascribes to Salafiyyah said: “If I was invited by a Shī’ah masjid or a masjid that commits Shirk, Wallahi (I swear by Allah) I'm going to do sadjah Ash-Shukr (prostrate to Allāh in thanks) that He has now given me an opportunity to go to these people and maybe call to Allāh and the Messenger of Allāh's Sunnah and also what the Companions were upon. As long as they don't put conditions on me. As long as they don't put any restrictions, I'm going to go inshaAllah ta'aala...” As nice as this may sound, this is actually a good example of heedlessness in Da'wah on the part of this speaker; who, rather than feel worried about being invited by innovators, considers this as a Da'wah opportunity. Ya akhaana! Before you go ahead and perform Sadjah Ash-Shukr, consider the following points: 1⃣. When have the people of Shirk and innovation ever aided Ad-Da'wah As-Salafiyyah?! Sheikh Abu 'Amr Al-Hajoori hafidhahullah said: "The enemies of Islam exploit the people of falsehood and their evil ways to strike the people of truth. They serve the enemies of Islam with their actions, whether they realise it or not. The disbelievers have not entered upon the Muslims except through the people of innovation." [Awaa'iq Ad-da'wah As-Salafiyyah] Don't be deceived by their outward appearances and their show of good conduct which they put on for you; because the people of innovation are like scorpions who bury the upper half of their bodies in the sand and leave their tails overground, till when they are deeply-rooted and go unnoticed they strike! [as mentioned by Al-Barbahari in Tabaqaat Al-Hanaabilah (2/44)] And how beautiful is the statement of Ash-Shaafi'ee rahimahullah when he said: إذا رأيتم الرجل يمشي على الماء ويطير في الهواء فلا تغتروا به حتى تعرضوا أمره على الكتاب والسنة. "If you see a man walking on water and flying in the air, do not be amazed by him until you refer his affair back to the Book and the Sunnah (i.e. if he doesn't adhere to the Book and Sunnah, there's nothing to be amazed about)." [Tabaqaat Ash-Shaaafi’iyeen (1/32)] 2⃣. Why don't you pause and ask yourself this: 'why have they chosen me to give a talk in their masjid while the difference between me (as a Salafi) and them is like the difference between the East and the West?!' Imaam Ash-Shafi'ee rahimahullah was asked: How do we distinguish the people of truth in times of trial? He said: look at the arrows of the enemies and see in which direction they're facing; those (the direction to which the arrows are facing) are the people of truth. Why are their arrows not pointing in your direction??! There are two obvious answers: The first: You lack Tamayyuz; which is why you are seen mixing with so many different groups and promoting so many different speakers such that the people of innovation who are usually against Salafiyyah have become inclined to your cocktail version of Salafiyyah. The second: You offer them a watered-down version of Salafiyyah which is very appealing to them. 3⃣. 'As long as they don't put any restrictions I'm going to go...' Conditions & restrictions are not the only thing you need to worry about when giving talks in the masjids of Ahlul-bid'ah. See link ⤵️ https://t.me/madrasatuna/2523 I take this opportunity to remind you that every Muslim, whether a daa'ee or otherwise, is in need of Da'wah, advice, and all that which will save them from trials and tribulations of life and death. Therefore, if you are able to convey the truth to these people via the phone, email, or through any other medium where their negative effects are minimal, then surely that would be a better alternative to mixing and socialising with them in their masjids. Sheikh Salih Aal Ash-Sheikh hafidhahullah mentioned in his explanation of 'Lum'atul I'tiqaad', when explaining the statement of the author: (من السنة هجران أهل البدع ومباينتهم) "It is from the Sunnah to boycott the people of innovation and stay away from them."
