-> I must not become lax with my morning and evening Adhkaars!!
It's very likely that afflictions occur on days when we miss our Adh-kaar.
Abaan ibn Uthman said: “I heard Uthman ibn `Affan radhiyallahu anhu saying: ‘The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “There is no worshiper who says, in the morning of every day, and the evening of every night:
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي لاَ يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الأَرْضِ وَلاَ فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ
‘In the Name of Allah, who with His Name, nothing in the earth or the heavens can cause harm, and He is the Hearing, the Knowing.' three times, (except that) nothing shall harm him.”
Abaan had been stricken with a type of semi-paralysis, so a man began to look at him, so Aban said to him, “What are you looking at? Indeed the Hadith is as I reported it to you (the narration is true), but I did not say it one day, so Allah brought about His decree upon me.” [Tirmithi 3388]
-> I have a Will and Allah has a Will, but Allah's Will supercedes my Will

[Surah Al-Insān: 30]
-> Allah is in control of everything. There is no might nor power except with Allah
لا حول ولا قوة إلا بالله
-> Giving me the opportunity to practice the theory learnt in the books of Aqeedah (Qadr, Sabr, Tawakkul, husn Adh-dhann, etc)

Perhaps...perhaps...
Whatever the case, I have come to terms with Allah's decree; because whatever was meant for me was never going to miss me, and whatever missed me was never meant for me!
Ibnul-Jawzee rahimahullah said: “The best of cures for sadness is to know that one cannot bring back what he has missed, and that by being sad, one is just adding a misfortune to an already existing misfortune, thus making it two misfortunes.” [Disciplining The Soul, Pg. 70]
